We are a group of enthusiastic people from different fields of activity, but who share a passion for tourism, heritage and great stories. We started in 2013 with the Arad Free Tours project and since then we have organized hundreds of tours for thousands of tourists who have visited Arad. We extended the project to Timișoara, where we put our time and knowledge at the disposal of several thousand tourists who visited the city in the year it was the European Capital of Culture.

In addition to the free tour part, the Alternative Tourism Association has set up - and continues to do so enthusiastically - themed tours and "behind closed doors" tours of the two cities, especially for locals. The main goal of this series of events is to help the people of Arad and Timisoara to get to know their city better.

And because we want tourism in Romania to have good tour guides, who leave behind the habits inherited from other eras, the association laid the foundations of the Alternative Tourism Association, which trains national tour guides prepared to walk groups of tourists in the most amazing places in the country!
